Cross Church Tallgrass Prairie restoration project. This private land project is to reclaim a portion of Black Soil Prairie back to it’s original state. It is used as a school backyard habitat for the church’s private school.

Size: 2-1/2 acres (3 acres with wetland pond)

Restoration method: locally sourced native seed collection, distribution and prescribed burns with city burn permit.

Habitat: river bottomland.

Soil pH: 6.8

Soil type: Black Soil Prairie (limestone till/dark sandy loam clay - Suborder: Udoll soil.

Soil profile via Oklahoma State University Dept. of Ag Science and Natural Resources.
