Monarch, Captive-Reared
Sightings report image

Date: 08/13/2022

Number: 40

Holy cow! The monarch season is not over in Chicago. Israel collected 38 eggs on our garden milkweed. We have a neighbor who helps protect and raise them so we are going to give a dozen to them. This batch will probably fly out and migrate to Mexico. We raise them outdoors in nearly wild conditions but they are protected from predators.
