Black-chinned Hummingbird counts at our nectar feeders at dusk have dropped abruptly from >35 to ~15. Apparently, most Black-chinned adults have departed for southward migration. Remaining birds include a mix of adult and juvenile Black-chinned, two Rufous Hummingbird males, and possibly a couple of Rufous females. Rufous Hummingbirds visit here as they move southward through the Rocky Mountains mid-July to mid-August.
