Monarch Waystation #299 reports sighting a very active monarch butterfly flying around the Conservation Garden from 2:05-2:20 pm while I was having lunch at one of the picnic tables near the large gate. The monarch seemed to be hovering over or "touch and go" -ing over the milkweeds near and along both sides of the fence as it made its "rounds." The behavior was similar to that of male monarchs seen in my front beds during the summer. This monarch did not get close enough to me to see its gender for sure, and I had no camera available. Color seemed a little faded, dusky.
