Monarch Waystation #271 reports finally getting a camera to record the bright, handsome male monarch nectaring on the flowers in the front yard today from 6-6:30 pm. It has been cruising both front and back beds consistently, apparently adopted the yard as his own "bachelor pad," even fending off a hummingbird from a Tithonia flower [see other sighting under hummingbirds this date]. Image shows the monarch nectaring on golden tropical milkweed. He also likes the bright orange Zinnias in the front and the Swamp milkweeds in the back.
