Monarch Waystation #271 reports sighting a hummingbird nectaring with its back to the window at a Tithonia bloom about 10 feet from my kitchen window about 6:15 pm today. Just my passing the window indoors I spooked the bird as it turned around to go to another flower and it zoomed off, too fast for me to see any distinct markings to verify its gender. It may or may not have been the same bird seen and reported in another sighting today.
