Hummingbird, Nectaring from Flowers

Date: 08/20/2022

Number: 1

Monarch Waystation #271 reports watching a hummingbird nectaring in the front yard out the kitchen window just after 11 am today. It had a clear throat, displayed no obvious tail spots. Flowers tapped were orange Tithonia and Lady-in-Red Salvia; the orange Zinnias were checked over, then the bird flew towards the nearest Sycamore tree northwards. Probably the same bird [clear throat, tiny white tail spots] came back 12:08 pm, fed at the Tithonia, tried a golden tropical milkweed flower but went back to the Tithonia then flew back towards the Sycamore. Too fast a bird to stay still for photos.
