Practice Report (Any Species)

Date: 08/21/2022

Number: 1000

The females started arriving on August 13. There has been at least one male at a time patrolling our milkweed in June and July. We noticed about 50 eggs at least being laid on the 14th. Since that time I would estimate over 1000 eggs in our yard on the tropical milkweed and common milkweed. I there is anywhere between 10 and 20 adult butterflies flying around our yard which is about an acre and a half. We drove all around New Bern yesterday and there was a lot of monarchs in our community. I have never seen so many this early in this season.
