Monarch Egg Sighted

Date: 08/21/2022

Number: 1000

The female monarchs started arriving on August 13 and we noticed at least 50 eggs on the 14th. Since that time there have been over 1000 eggs laid in our yard which is about an acre and a half. We have a lot of tropical milkweed and common milkweed. I have not seen any activity on the butterfly weed at this time. During the months of June and July we had at least one male patrolling all milkweed. We rode around New Bern yesterday and there was a lot of Monarch butterflies in our community.
