Saw 9 roosts tonight ranging in size from 10 to 120. Quite windy from the NNE and 68F. Most were on green trees, mainly cottonwood but 50 or so were on thin, dead branches.
Hope the Monarchs stick around for a while. My photographer friend John is planning to come here on Friday to get some good shots.
Walked a very small corner of our grassland at 6:30 PM tonight and it was full of Monarchs. Saw at least 50 in about 10 minutes. Meadow blazing star is abundant and the flower of choice.
