A Butterfly Across from Our Airport

As I was exiting the University Park Airport (State College, PA), I noticed a Monarch Butterfly slowly making its way west across a fallow field on the north side of the road.  It was flying roughly between 5 and 20 feet above the ground.  At the time, it's forward progress was probably slightly aided against the breeze by the row of trees at the west end of the field. No camera handy so no photo.

At the time we had partly cloudy skies with an air temperature of 86°F, a dew point of 61°F, humidity at 43%, a somewhat variable 12 mph breeze from the west, and the air pressure was at 28.59 inches and had been dropping slowly since about 9:00 AM today.
