Another beautiful day .... temp 84 degrees at reporting time. Winds SW at 8 mph .... seeing multiple Monarchs at each walk thru the zinnias. No more than 5 at any one time but as soon as one leaves another seems to come in to replace it. This has been the constant activity since about 0800 this morning.
[Additional information contributed by observer, added by Journey North, 09/01/2022]:
There was a continuous stream of Monarchs all day long (last two days in fact) ..... with the MOST seen at any one time being 5 (instantaneous count). I can't guess how many over the course of the day at all. Continuing today (September 1, 2022)
All in the very same flower / pollinator bed ..... it's a designated "Monarch Way Station" ....
They were nectaring exclusively.
Arriving from the north .... heading to the south.
I do know that I will continue to see about this level of movement for the next 2 weeks approximately.
