Twice yesterday afternoon I witnessed a female nectaring from my Rio plant that is hanging from my deck. I have had 2 feeders hanging nearby since the spring that have had a lot of activity this year.
Also yesterday hummer left a feeder and hovered in front of my slider as if to say hello or thank you for the nourishment.
They have been such a pleasure.
Sad to have the season end an I wish them safe travels. Last year we had some stragglers way into late October. We'll keep the feeders well stocked this yeas as usual.
