Point Pelee National Park at the Tip
6:20pm-810pm Sunset 8:01
26°c, 90% humidity, partly cloudy with ESE wind @ 9/11. Daytime high 27°c
Overnight low 21°c
On drive down did see 3 monarchs near Sparrow field nectaring on Woodland sunflowers.
Tip tower base- observed 6 or 7 monarchs nectaring on Goldenrod & Woodland sunflowers. Mostly males. Did see 1 female.
All but 1 pristine. One male had torn wing tip (in photo).
Twice checked further south at Tip. 6:40- none seen
7:50 one flitting south over west west path.
8:10pm- On drive out spotted 1 monarch flitting south over roadside at Sparrow Field.
About a dozen visitors on & off enjoyed seeing the monarchs at Tip Tower base.
Observations by eye, binoculars & camera & clicker.
