At the south east end of the pond in Cuttys is a small clump of old growth trees. I believe there were about 300 monarchs in the trees.
It was right at sunset. I apologize for the low quality photos.
[Report moved from Monarch Adult Sighted to Monarch Fall Roost by Journey North; additional information contributed by observer and added to report on 09/07/2022]:
I observed the butterflies right at dusk settling into the trees for the night it was somewhere between eight and 830 on Sunday night the way that I estimated their account was looking at the groupings and kind of guesstimating how much for in each group I guesstimated that there were approximately 60 in each group and there were five groups 5×60 is 300 they weren’t really going anywhere just to that location for the night.
I stood in observation of them for probably 10 to 15 minutes one here and one they’re adding to the number in the group they look like they were coming from the north and from the east to that southern location of the lake.
