a fresh monarch circulated in this large outdoor plant nursery with a variety of perennial flowers in bloom. we thought the behavior of this butterfly interesting, for we saw it nectar only on Conoclinium (Eupatorium) coelestinum commonly known as mistflower, blue mistflower, or hardy ageratum. this monarch passed over all the black-eyed susans, echinaceas, anemones, hibiscus, hydrangeas, roses, sedums, solidagos, chrysanthemums, and asters also in bloom nearby.
