Monarch Waystation #271 reports sighting a hummingbird nectaring at Lady-in-Red Salvia in the front bed today around 11 am. My husband and I were heading to the car to finish bringing in groceries when the bird appeared from around the eastern corner of the building. It briefly nectared at the Salvia on the edge of the bed near our neighbor's unit, then it saw us, paused for a split second and flew northeast towards the sycamore tree near the next building that shares the parking lot. There was no time to see any field marks, no camera available.
