Monarch Adult Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 09/07/2022

Number: 25

We usually check the monarch population around 9/7 each fall. Weather prior to this date was rainy, cooler, and dense cloudiness, so I thought the butterflies would be out and ready for the next leg of their migration. We only saw about 25, and a few of these looked smaller than normal. The largest group of them was right near the Cuyahoga River around knotweed (I believe). Difficult to photography groups of them as they were quite active. Also observed many bumblebees and fewer honeybees.
