Today 9/8, the following was observed from 6:15 to 6:45 pm in the same area as yesterday.
Temperature was 83 degrees and wind was 15-16 mph from the South
Again lots of Boneset and no monarchs on the goldenrod.
Count was over 300 and really too many to count as we walked through this area of downed and mostly dead trees along the river which was not in sight. The numbers were much greater tonight and we walked deeper into the boneset. The number was unbelievable. There was no direction flight each day, they were just nectaring.
