Wind brisk (gusts to 25-35 mph) out of the SW with air temps of about 82 degrees F. Warmer to the south and west as a heat wave endured. Wind changing to the NW on 09/09/2022 and temps dropping substantially. Highs for 09/09/2022 predicted to be 65 degrees. Butterflies nectaring but struggling to fly against the strong SW wind. So ... likely staying in the area but could not find a roost.

The count of 10 was an instantaneous count walking around a 40x40 zinnia bed / garden and doing a count of all individuals seen. No day-time estimate was attempted. Moving in an out all day.
