Monarch Fall Roost

Date: 09/08/2022

Number: 20

I have not reported single sightings for a while now, having seen single adults several times a day, in varied local settings.

However, I HAVE seen monarchs roosting in this location many times over the years. Guess I was lucky to be there at dusk, the north side of a hedgerow, mostly maples, bordering one of our hayfields. the other side of this particular hedgerow is old overgrown pasture, with springs that deer sometimes use. I'm thinking that is part of the attraction, too?
there could have been more than twenty; some were already roosting and difficult to see.
