I drove to Smithville Lake to pick common milkweed. Saw 1 monarch flying next to the road. Despite the 90+ milkweed planted in my yard, I am running low. This is only bcuz the aphids we’re very bad this year & destroyed half of my plants; I had to cut them back. I tried ladybugs; it didn’t work. Spraying them off= there was far too many. :(
BUT, I know of 3 (secret-lol!) places at this lake to find milkweed if I need it suddenly. So, my bf & I went on a short road trip & got my raised babies more munchies!😊🦋
