Sightings report image

Date: 09/09/2022

Number: 50

Saw around 50 monarch butterflies throughout Wildwood Park and Euclid Beach area around 4 p.m.

[Additional information contributed by observer, added by Journey North, 09/13/2022]:

I just estimated. This park has fields of boneset, thistle, etc scattered throughout and monarchs were feeding on them. There weren’t huge numbers of them in any one area, but I saw them throughout the park feeding on flowers.

Observation period was between 4-5 p.m.

[Monarchs were] nectaring. Park is along Lake Erie shore.

Not very windy. Around 80 degrees Fahrenheit.
