Number: 40

[Additional information contributed by observer, added by Journey North, 09/16/2022]:

They roosted in a maple tree and seemed to feed on fallen apples from a near by tree. I estimated by quick visual count. They stayed on one particular branch which was about 6 foot above my 5'4" head. Noticed them on Sunday saw the large group on branch on Monday. On Tuesday about half were gone on Wednesday all were gone. On Monday if I approached the branch they would swarm. Tuesday they were not disturbed by my presence. Sunday temp was 67-79 Monday temp was 58-70 degrees Tues temp was 56-74 Wed temp was 62-80. Branch was protected from wind.
