Monarch PEAK Migration
Sightings report image

Date: 09/13/2022

Number: 188

I watched from 11:30am - 2:30 pm. The wind was NW at 5 mph and the temperature was 68 degrees and overcast. The last two days here were in the upper 50s to lower 60s and rainy. So today the monarchs were able to fly and were trickling in over my house. One hundred and fifty of them were high up in the sky, about 80 to 100 feet up. The other 38 were about 20 to 30 feet up. Only 6 came to feed on the zinnias in the garden. One of them stayed for an hour. It was so much fun to sit and watch for them to appear in the sky. The monarchs came from the NE and flew towards the sun in the SW.
