One of three monarch individuals observed nectaring from whorled milkweed flowers established adjacent to the Rio Grande. This individual has a deeply torn wing, all were flower nectaring from milkweeds. The afternoon was warm, windy, and with partly cloudy sky and this river reach is now dry.
