Number: 60

I see about 60 Monarch butterflies per hour or more migrating South.

[Report moved from Monarch Adult Sighted to Monarch PEAK Migration; additional information contributed by observer, added by Journey North, 09/15/2022:]

I did make an estimate. I have noticed the butterflies in the last week and noticed that almost every time I'm outside I see them. A couple of days ago I saw about 5-10 in only a couple minutes. So of course when I started to time it and count them they seemed to disappear. However even with them being less than before I am still counting at least 1 every minute. They are flying from North to South about 10 to 30 feet up. The weather has been high 60 to low 70s the last couple of days. I live about 2 blocks off Lake Michigan and observe them from my backyard facing West.
