After not seeing a monarch in my yard for several weeks I was surprised to see this one on the grass near my milkweed patch. Unfortunately she appeared to have a damaged wing. She climbed on to a milkweed leaf for me and I was able to deposit her high enough on a plant to keep her away from my kitten. I hope she’s able to lay eggs because I don’t think she will be able to migrate with that wing.
