Partly cloudy with SW wind @ 8/14kmh.
Daytime high 23c overnight low 16°c.
Driving down to Tip at Tip gate observed a half dz on branches cascading over the road.
Still driving down observed about a dz sipping nectar from the Woodland sunflowers near Sparrow field.
Arrived at shuttle stop area. Clusters already established on hackberry trees, hop tree, vines & bare branches & as sunset drew near more roosts were established while others increased in numbers.
Further down tip in interior trees & on east side clusters already established & continued to increase, on Hackberry & mulberry trees, bare branches & vines all in sheltered areas.
Clusters were about 12-60' up.
Observed 2 males with pieces of wings missing. All others appeared pristine.
Observations by eye, binoculars and camera & clicker.
Largest cluster of 160. Numerous 1,2,3 & 5's up to 25. Several of 35, 40, 50 & 60 & 70.
The 1850 almost equally split between the two main areas.
Monarchs continued to arrive from the north at sunset & even 30 minutes after.
Many visitors.
