Monarch (OTHER Observations)

Date: 09/15/2022

Number: 1

We are NOT seeing migrating monarchs and we are looking all day long. Weather aspects have been good many days, however there is high altitude smoke the past 2 days.
Central swathes of MN have had significant drought. We also started with a very cool spring.

We are watching postings, have seen a couple good ones in western MN. We had our initial migration surge on the "normal" dates, so far no evidence of a late surge.

We were thinking migration from further north would be more significant since no drought up there.

Last year was difficult here also, although we saw some good numbers posted elsewhere in MN.

We do see swarms in states east of here.
