Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 09/17/2022

Number: 1

Positive identification as it flew quite close to where I was standing in the backyard; sorry that I didn't have my camera handy because this is the FIRST Monarch butterfly that I have seen, east of the Rockies, this year. 12:30 PM, sunshine, 70 F, 31% humidity, gusty winds 18mph. There are a few nectar flowers still in bloom: sunflowers, Russian sage, purple asters, rabbit brush. Monarch Way Station #9418
