Sightings report image

Date: 09/17/2022

Number: 9

7:07 AM hummingbird talk and appearances in the flowers.

Friday evening, they were so focused on flowers they ignored the feeders. As daylight was disappearing, at 8 PM, they were still going from flower to flower vs perching on feeders, for those "last sips of nectar before bed."

This morning they were enjoying impatients, salvias, coral bells, butterfly bushes, petunias, lantanas, dicentra luxuriant, pink turtleheads and clematis ragouchi. They were also in the ditches, visiting wild impatients.

As I was focusing on one hummingbird with the cell phone, there were 3 more within inches, watching me from within the branches of the butterfly bush and salvia.

All appear to be healthy and gaining weight for their journey.

Our last sighting usually occurs within the dates of Sept 28th and Oct 3.
