Point Pelee National Park Tip 5:00-7:40pm Sunset 7:34
24°c, sunny with strong SW wind @15/21.
Daytime high 25c with 76% humidity. Overnight low 18c.
Driving past Sparrow Field observed about 10 monarchs nectaring on Woodland sunflowers.
5pm zero clusters at Tip shuttle stop. A few monarchs flitting about.
5:15-Tip interior trees & tree seen from east beach, clusters already starting to be established on hackberry & mulberry trees & on grapevine.
By 7pm clusters pretty much established with still a few flitting about. Largest clusters of 64 & 98. Many others of 1's-5 & 7 up to 30.
They roosted at 7'- 25' up.
7:05 @ tip shuttle stop a few small clusters being established on hackberry & Virginia creeper vines. They roosted at 8' up to 30'.
All appeared pristine.
Observations by eye, binoculars and camera & clicker.
Cold front arriving 9/19.
