Monarch Larva Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 09/19/2022

Number: 6

This is a 3rd or 4th instar on stripped (by a previous monarch caterpillar)swamp milkweed, along the shoreline.
There is no let up of caterpillars, as I also found 5 - 1st instars, which just hatched this morning. I observed a female laying eggs last week. The fall season in this area seems to have shifted a month later, so I only hope it continues this year.
