12:30p First sighting of rose-breasted grosbeak--at feeder filled with sunflower & safflower. This a young male-- "rose breast" is pale & small--just beneath his throat at upper breast. Usually see them during spring migration north & again in fall during return south. Cold front with NNW winds moved through last evening--yest temps in mid 70's--today temp just 60, brisk wind.
