Sunny with NW wind at 18/26kmh.
Daytime high 16c. Overnight low 7c!!
The evening presented 4 main areas of roosts. Upon arrival all areas were already being established & increased til sunset.
Sparrow field from road at north end of open area monarchs roosted on Virginia creeper creeping up a tree trunk. Roost at about 50' up. 3 other smaller clusters in nearby trees at about 10-12'up. All on south/sheltered sides of trees. Largest cluster of 300. Numerous on flight.
On road down to shuttle stop there were numerous clusters on cascading branches of Hackberry trees & some in interior trees seen looking east & west from road. North to south- 2x150, 210, 125, 150, 290 & 240.
At Tip shuttle stop two main roosts, 800 & 450 with numerous flitting about & eventually joining the clusters.
Further south in Tip interior trees about another 650 in 2 separate roosts. Numerous flitting about.
Cluster of 12 at hackberry tree in center area.
All looked pristine.
