Fall temps have arrived- future daytime highs 14-18°c. Overnight lows 7c-11°c.

At Park's front entrance above & around Hackberry trees observed about 2 dz monarchs flitting about. Establishing a cluster began with 10 in cluster. At end of night departure at dark I could not locate this cluster to see if it had increased.

Driving down to Tip, stopped outside of Sparrow field to observe numerous monarchs flitting about trees. No clusters. 1 female nectaring on woodland sunflower.

Through the evening at Tip shuttle stop observed numerous monarchs flitting about. No clusters were established that we could locate.

No clusters further down tip in usual areas. Less than 6 monarchs were seen flitting in the area.

7pm Returned to shuttle stop again observing monarchs flitting about.

A walk north toward Sparrow Field, 2 clusters were located south of Sparrow Field & on the west side of the road way up high 60' in an oak tree & on Virginia creeper. One increased from 28 to 70. Another from 20 to 32. About 15 in the cluster were under a branch & would be sheltered from overnight rain.
At Sparrow Field about 15 were flitting about & started to establish a cluster, 3, in a sycamore tree about 15' up but dispersed when shuttle on road passed by.

1 female monarchs seen nectaring on Woodland sunflowers. Asters have now bloomed with area now having the sunflowers, goldenrod & asters.

On walk back south toward shuttle stop we saw 2 on a branch with dead leaves cascading over road about 10' up.

All appeared pristine.

Observations by eye, binoculars and camera & clicker & many visitors following along.
