Monarch PEAK Migration

Date: 09/25/2022

Number: 25

Saw 25 Monarchs flying through the yard today. It was very windy, with wind from the N/NE all day. The Monarchs were being blown to the S/SW, but some were fighting against the wind to fly to our orange and yellow Coreopsis flowers. Noticed at least 3-4 enjoying those. One Monarch was enjoying the flowers on our white Crepe Myrtle too. All but one looked healthy and brightly colored. This one had an injured wing that was partially torn off. It seemed to struggle a little more, but overall could fly relatively well and went to various flowers across the yard.
