1 in photo is sub adult male that has been guarding feeder in Hamelia, coral honeysuckle
area since yesterday. Another one comes along guards when this one chases out. Gaining overnight. They're mostly adult males, sub adult males, maybe 1 female. All are squabbling over potted salvias, turks cap, Mexican petunias, pine cone shrimp plant, in ground Hamelias, honeysuckle, porterweeds. Adding feeders That being 8, with neighbors help makes 9 feeders.
This is one week later than last years wave, and more adult males we have ever had at once.
