We only see Monarchs here in October heading south. What a surprise to see caterpillars in late September on my little Tropical Milkweed patch, just noticed them this evening around sunset. 4 of them look 4th instar and I found one that is younger 2nd instar. I'll look more closely tomorrow for all of them. we have several large Queens that arrived this week and really like that milkweed patch.
