Female monarch deposited over 40 eggs on our 2 swamp milkweed plants over the course of 30 minutes! We watched her lay eggs, flutter about, fly off in search of more milkweed only to return to our plants (the only ones on the block). We observed the development of the caterpillars and successfully released 20 adult butterflies (15 female and 5 male) as they emerged between 09/20/2022 and 09/23/2022. We are waiting for the development of the final 2 chrysalises.
