Monarch Adult Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 09/30/2022

Number: 1

I'm still seeing Monarchs daily in both yards.

I have Asclepia fasicularis and Asclepia californica/showy in front and back yards. The front yard's are mostly dead (aphids and general seasons end) but at least half the backyard's milkweeds are in good shape.

The young, large, female pictured was moving quickly among the californica. I checked the spot she appeared to be laying and found an egg. (will report egg in follow up with photo). Caught this picture as she was leaving from a long rest on neighbor's bougainvillea
