Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 09/30/2022

Number: 4

We have at least 4 juveniles still with us, plus some travelers. It's been a very rough day for them and for all of our birdies and wildlife. Hurricane Ian, which has been downgraded to a tropical storm, has been wreaking havoc on our area all day with very strong winds and rain. I observed our juveniles working very hard to make it to feeders and flowers all day long quite diligently. I flushed the feeders throughout the day to help with concentration. The storm is continuing through the night. We've been praying for the safety of our neighbors, our little hummers, other birdies, and all the wildlife out there in this mess. God willing, I will be so thankful to see them bright and early tomorrow morning at fresh feeders, with this storm behind us. Sadly, I think the storm has taken out most of our flowers. That's ok. I'm sure our little hummers will be eager to start their journey south in a few days now. Praying for all those out there who have been affected by this terrible storm.
