From 1030 am today until about 1230pm today I and another person attempted to tag Monarchs that were nectaring in a field of Goldenrod, Maximillian Sunflower and what I think is Fall Boneset. We managed to tag and release 11.

They seemed to arrive sporadically in groups of 2-4. Most all that we tagged and/or saw arrived from the north and headed south after leaving this field. I expect to see some numbers of them in this field and adjacent roost again tomorrow morning.

Winds light out of the south east. Temp was about 75 degrees F.
