Counted 58 monarchs nectaring on alfalfa over a 70-minute time period, 11 a.m.-12:10 p.m. Temperature was 80 degrees, wind from south at 10 mph. There was a steady flow of monarchs from north to south across the field. Most had plump abdomens; some with tattered wings.
