The older sub adult that I put in todays nectaring from flowers went all over just looking at each inground garden plants or potted plants. Nectared briefky while doing so. Fiery Hamelia is located left of where I sit inside watching thru glass storm door when cold am.'s He came around hovered 4 inches close and made eye contact at me, thru storm glass door.

This is not the first time a hummingbird does this. It happened 3x's this season. And previous seasons. There is always at least one that looks close in windows, going around all windows. Our Amazon parrot freaks hollering when a hummingbird looks at him in his window. I can tell by this behavior rubythroats are bonding with you reporters also by comments from east.



Rubythroats are the most friendly here and don't look at themselves in glass windows. Some look at me up close. Sometimes they try to fight in windows but finally figure it's their reflection. They do bond with humans as I see this while observing this species. Have a lot of different species come thru at my location.
