10/1/2022, day after Hurrincane Ian blew through, I got out to Pleasure House Point to observe (bird) activities and to my astonishment I saw 13 monarch butterflies. I hardly ever see one! and I am there daily, year round. It was approximately 7:30AM. the day before with H Ian the winds were 65 MPH. I was jaw-dropped sighting these incredibly beautiful creatures!
