Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 10/07/2022

Number: 2

We're down to our last 2 resident juveniles, both females. Our last resident male juvenile left yesterday. Our two girls who are left are all business; they feed, rest, and repeat all day long. They are feeding heavily from the flowers. I do see them occasionally at the feeders, most particularly first thing in the morning and at night before they retire for the evening. Both appear to be very strong, healthy, and ready for their first migration south. I love watching them meticulously go from flower to flower. They are the best gardeners. One chirps and squeaks the whole time and the other is more the silent type. I sure will miss them. I expect that they will leave any day now. Our last resident last year left October 7th, so these girls are going to set a new record, even if they choose to leave tomorrow. Travelers continue to come through every day throughout the day. God speed to all our dear little ones. Please keep your feeders up, clean and fresh. I'm using a 3:1 sugar ratio at this point.
