This report filed 10/8/22. on 9/29/22 I sighted my last hummer (juvenile) of the season! WE had unseasonably warm weather up until late (21st-22nd of) Sept.. At that time I was seeing 5-6 hummers per day (female & juvenile) with many entertaining late-season dog fights. A cold snap on the 24th and the migrants fled south-save 2 slender juveniles. They remained until the 29th!! I saw over 30 females & as many juveniles from 9/1/22-9/23/22. In my 13 years here, I have NEVER seen so much late season activity as I have this season. It was a 'spectacular' year with a fantastic finish!!!Heavy frost on 10/7 & 10/8-will take DOWN feeders today. What a year!!
