Spotted this Monarch at about 3:30 p.m. visiting my Marigolds. Flew into the wood, so I wasn't able to see the direction it was flying. With so few of Monarchs seen this summer (likely due to our severe/extreme drought?), I was very surprised to see one, especially so late.
Temp was about 70. Wind out of SSW at 8 mph. Nice sunny day! Saw many bumblebees, also.
